The BAMS or Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery is an integrated Indian degree in the field of medicine. According to Ayurvedic, there are only three types of dysfunction or disorders in the human body of Kapha, Pitta and Vata. This dysfunction is often referred to as Dosha in Ayurvedic vocabulary. Kapha means Phlegm (water and earth), Pitta means Bile (fire and water) and Vata means wind (wind and space). Ayurvedic says that a person became ill when they came out of the harmony of the three doshas. The Ayurvedic system of medical care is based on the idea that the body’s natural healing power is enhanced by Ayurvedic treatment. Ayurvedic treatments include reducing symptoms, eliminating pollution, reducing anxiety, increasing disease resistance and increasing the patient's health harmony.

BAMS Course
Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) is a graduate course in Ayurvedic programs. These degrees are offered after the completion of 5 years with a 6 month graduation program consisting of a 4 and 1/2 year study session and a one-year live student internship program.
The UG degree course is divided into three phases of 1.5 years each. These categories are called three professional courses. Firstly, in the professional course the students were taught the anatomy, physiology and history of the Ayurvedic system. In the second course they are taught toxicology and pharmacology and the final lesson contains surgery, ENT, dermatology, obstetrics and gynecology.
All of this training contains modern anatomy, pharmacology, physiology, social and preventive medicine, forensic medicine, surgical procedure, toxicology, ENT, botany and pharmacology. The graduates use the title "Vaidyar" before their name (abbreviated Vr.)

BAMS Admission Procedure
The mandatory acedemic requirement for eligibility for admission to the BAMS program is eligible for 10 + 2 exam with science stream. The candidate should have a physics, chemistry and biology class in 12th grade. The applicant must pass a national entry level test such as NEET 2022 (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test).
